Concept prototypeAircon service booking and technician app

Brisa

An air-conditioning service company’s app: customers book at a fixed price, follow the technician to their door, approve extra work and sign; technicians work through the day; the office assigns, chases and reads the numbers.

The brief

Aircon service customers complain about the same things: a price that changes at the door, technicians who arrive late without a word, refills that do not last and no receipt. Most consumer service apps in Malaysia have closed. We built a service company’s own app around those complaints, with the technician’s and the office’s sides behind it.

What we shipped

Booking in four steps: the service, the units, a two-hour window and the address, at published-range prices per unit with 10% off for three units or more. The visit plays live: a technician with a door code, the van on a real road route, a late notice, readings, extra work proposed with the reading and the price, the report, a signature, payment and a rating. The technician app runs the day in order with checklists, readings against the manufacturers’ guide and the van’s stock; the office has the day’s board, late technicians, reminders for units due and two weeks of numbers. It runs as an Android app, built and signed by our pipeline, and in the browser; it is not on Google Play.

Built for: Aircon, electrical, plumbing, pest control and other home and office service companies with technicians in vans.

Inside the build

Every part, and what it does

A closer look at what was actually built — screen by screen, so you can judge the depth for yourself.

Book at a fixed price

Every unit at home with when it is due. Booking takes four steps: the service, the units, a two-hour window and the address, with prices per unit by size and 10% off for three units or more.

  • Units and when each is due
  • Two-hour windows, Monday to Saturday
  • The total before booking

On the way, and extra work approved first

The customer follows the van on a live map with the arrival time, a late notice and a door code. Extra work comes with the reading, a photo and the price, and waits for their answer.

  • Live map and arrival time
  • A door code for the technician
  • Extras need the customer’s OK
For technicians1

03

Checklist, readings and the report

The technician works through a checklist per unit with readings and before and after photos; the customer receives the report with each reading, then signs and pays.

  • A checklist for each service
  • Readings against the guide
  • Signed report and receipt
For the office1
Office timeline of technicians’ jobs with a late notice, beside two weeks of figures such as jobs, revenue and first-visit fixes, Brisa sample app
04

The day’s board and the numbers

Today as a timeline, a map or a list, with jobs to assign and late technicians flagged. Two weeks of numbers: jobs, revenue, fixed on the first visit, arrival in the window and ratings.

  • Jobs to assign and who is late
  • Customers whose units are due
  • Two weeks of numbers

Behind the build

Researched first, then built

We read published prices from eleven Malaysian aircon service companies, how they take bookings and fourteen customer complaints, and studied the consumer apps that remain and five field-service products. Each finding below changed the app.

Studied (10)

  • Eleven Malaysian aircon service companies
  • ServisHero
  • Kaodim
  • Daikin
  • Recommend.my
  • Jobber
  • Housecall Pro
  • ServiceTitan
  • Zuper
  • Chillhub
  • What we saw

Customers report one price quoted and another charged on arrival.

    What Brisa does

The booked price stays; extra work needs the customer’s OK on their phone.

  • What we saw

Refills that stop cooling after two days, with no gas level measured.

    What Brisa does

Readings before any refill, and the cause of a weak unit shown, such as current or the capacitor.

  • What we saw

Technicians arriving late without a word.

    What Brisa does

A live map, an arrival time and a late notice with the new time.

  • What we saw

Customers asking for a receipt or invoice afterwards.

    What Brisa does

The report and receipt arrive when the work is signed.

  • What we saw

Units leaking again a month after a service.

    What Brisa does

Before and after photos, the drain checked, and a 60-day warranty with a return-visit button.

Rules it follows

The business rules, built in

The prototype enforces each of these, so you can test them yourself.

Prices

  • General service RM90 or RM120, chemical wash RM160 or RM210, by unit size
  • 10% off the cleaning for three units or more
  • A problem check is RM80, waived when the repair goes ahead

Visits

  • Two-hour windows, Monday to Saturday; today closes 90 minutes ahead
  • A late technician means a new time sent to the customer
  • Extra work waits for the customer’s answer

Readings

  • More than 8°C between room and supply air after 15 minutes on cool
  • Pressure never decides a refill on its own
  • Guide figures are manufacturer examples, shown as such

Connected roles

One action, every screen

Every role works on the same records, so one person’s action shows up for the others.

  1. 1

The customer books a window, and the office assigns the job by distance and who is free.

  2. 2

The technician sets off; the customer sees the van, the arrival time and any late notice.

  3. 3

A reading finds a fault; the repair waits until the customer approves it on their phone.

  4. 4

The customer signs and pays, and the office’s numbers and reminders update.

Core systems

What this build is made of

These are systems we build repeatedly — each links to every other project that contains it, so you can compare implementations before deciding what you need.

Industry: Renovation & trades

Unique to this build

Built specifically for this project rather than assembled from the shelf.

  • The price that stays

The booked price holds; extra work found on site waits for the customer’s OK on their phone, with the reading and the price.

  • Readings, not guesses

Room and supply air, current and pressure checked against the manufacturers’ guide before any refill, so a weak unit’s cause is shown.

  • A visit you can follow

The van on a real road route, the arrival time and a late notice with the new time, then each unit’s progress with photos.
